Complete Vindication

Now with my Vindicator done, I've really only left with two Rhinos to finish. That's not too terribly much to ask, but I've got much less than a week to complete them. I'm basically going to have to double my usual pace with these last ones. Once they're complete, however, I'll have all my 1500pt list completed. I'll had much more than that in potential points that I can put on a table. Well... maybe not MUCH more, but more nonetheless. I'm very excited to be near completion and I just can't wait to put these suckers on a table and play a real game of 40K. Soon! Less than a week for sure. Wish me luck. Here are some more shots of the Vindicator:

Its looking good so far. You are doing very well painting for your first army. I wish my first stuff looked this good.

I am curious about the Chi Rho. Is your army some how linked to the Catholic Priesthood? X and P are the first two letters of the word Christ in Greek. They mixed them together to make this cross as a symbol for the Catholic Priesthood. Are you Catholic? or do you just think it looks cool?

I'm not Catholic, but I'm a Christian. The Chi Rho symbol was also adopted by Constantine after a visage of this symbol in the sky, and he claimed an angel instructed him to adorn his army's shields with this and he would have victory. All the banners and shields from then on bore that symbol.

I wanted to weave Christian symbols into my army. The chapter's name is "The Prodigal Sons" and the background I've thought up deals with their struggle to find their home, and understand their purpose. I felt this was an interesting medium through which I could project a spiritual journey and anchor it with my true to life religious beliefs. I'm sure there would be some that would find this insulting to the religion, but I certainly mean no negative intent whatsoever. Anyways, hope that explains it and thanks again for all the compliments.

I am a baptist pastor, and I am not insulted in any way. It seems like a great way to involve your spirituality with your hobby.

I am happy that you know your church history. I find that there is a general lack of familiarity with the history of the church among Christians. Church history is too important for us to forget.
